Hi,
I'm Steven Jeppesen, nice to meet you!
I'm a self-proclaimed weirdo with a compulsion to take things apart and put them back together, whether it's languages, mountain bikes, or broken user experiences. Over the past 13+ years, I've designed enterprise SaaS platforms at scale, living at that crossroads of art and logic where complex technical problems become elegantly simple solutions.
Most recently at Cisco, I defined UX vision for Webex Control Hub, a platform serving 500 million users across 190 countries. I led a 0-1 AI-powered search project, building admin search capabilities from the ground up that now handle 4,500+ daily searches with a 65% click-through rate. I've established design systems architecture used by 15+ product teams to maintain consistency across the entire platform, and shipped features like lobby customization that 124 organizations adopted in the first month, scaling to thousands of user-created lobbies through intuitive workflows.
Before that, I co-invented and patented an AI-powered recommended action system at Overstock.com that delivered a 10-20% sales lift for their 1,000+ merchant platform. This system analyzed catalog data to surface intelligent recommendations that helped merchants optimize product listings and drive sales. I also rebuilt their entire supplier portal with a comprehensive design system that improved user efficiency 50% and cut development cycles 40%, demonstrating how systems thinking creates compounding value.
Earlier at NICE inContact, I defined the industry's first omnichannel and multichannel agent offerings through a 6-month research initiative. This pioneering work created unified agent experiences that increased efficiency 40-60% and improved first-contact resolution by 300%. These innovations were a key factor in the company's $1 billion acquisition, proving how user-centered design creates transformative business impact.
